TL;DR

Amanda runs webinars, campaigns, and sales enablement at Kong. She came up through scrappy small teams and big orgs alike. And after going through AirOps University, she started asking "how do I engineer this?" instead of "how do I do this?"

Q: Introduce yourself! What do you do for work?

I'm a Campaigns Program Manager at Kong, where I run the webinar program, support campaign execution, and help with sales enablement.

Q: What led you to Content Engineering?

I started out at a small engineering firm and slowly found my way into tech marketing, going from scrappy small teams to large orgs and now to startup mode. It's been a winding road, but every stop taught me something.

Q: When did you first learn about Content Engineering?

I first heard about Content Engineering when AI tools started flooding the market. My dad always wanted me to be an engineer. Well, turns out I finally am one, just not the kind he had in mind. I'd say he can stop worrying now.

Q: How do you define Content Engineering?

Using systems and AI to take content from a random idea all the way to a finished, distributed piece. Without losing your mind in the process.

Q: Tell us about your biggest win with Content Engineering so far.

Building our webinar workflow has been a game changer. From ideation all the way through follow-up emails, the whole thing runs as one connected system now. What used to take days of back-and-forth happens in a fraction of the time.

Q: How did AirOps University change how you approach your work?

The AirOps cohort was honestly the best education experience I've had, and I don't say that lightly. It was super hands-on and I was able to follow along every step of the way, which made it actually stick. Now I come to every project asking "how do I engineer this?" instead of just "how do I do this?"

Q: What are you most excited about in the future of marketing?

I'm excited about the way AI is leveling the playing field. Small teams can now punch way above their weight. The creativity is still human, but the horsepower is getting a serious upgrade.

Q: What advice would you give someone just getting started with Content Engineering?

Find a real problem you deal with every week and build something that solves it. Don't just follow a template. The Cohort gives you hands-on experience that actually sticks because you're working on your own stuff. The learning curve is real, but so is the payoff.
